Jekyll Island & Georgia’s Coastal Greenway Trails

Jekyll Island Coastal GreenwayHi y’all! It’s another great day here on the Southern Summer Bucket List. I’m on the road, writing from Camp Cook (my campsite) at Crooked River State Park in Georgia. This morning, after leaving St. Augustine, I stopped by one of my favorite Georgia destinations, Jekyll Island. I specifically wanted to check out the bike trails. I have to say, I was so pleased with the bike trails on Jekyll, I’m wondering why I haven’t utilized them before. These trails are flat, super easy and make traversing the island quick and enjoyable. I actually enjoyed biking the island much more than I ever enjoyed hopping in and out of the car. Enjoy this quick video I threw together. Afterward, I’ll tell you a little or a lot more about Jekyll Island as a family & budget-friendly educational vacation!

One of Georgia’s barrier, “Golden Isles,” Jekyll is a family favorite. Development on the island is restricted, because of the natural salt marsh. This means there are more opportunities to enjoy nature & observe wildlife on Jekyll Island. Tour the Georgia Sea Turtle Center & Tidelands 4H for an enjoyable educational experience about the island’s natural habitat & animals that live there. Then, venture out on the many hiking, biking and wildlife-watching trails available.
