Blairsville – Brasstown Bald – More Information

Brasstown Bald is the highest peak in Georgia. Atlanta Astronomy Club often uses Brasstown Bald as an observing location.

Fargo – Stephen C Foster State Park – More Information
State Park Parking Pass Required, $5 – Camping Available
According to ClearDarkSky, this Okefenokee park is one of the best viewing locations in Georgia: The sky is crowded with stars, extending to the horizon in all directions. In the absence of haze the M.W. can be seen to the horizon. Clouds appear as black silhouettes against the sky. Stars look large and close.

  1. Fernbank Science Center and Coca Cola Space Science Center I haven’t been to. They both sound like fun and I’ll try to make a trip to at least Fernbank since I hear a lot about it. Thanks Candy!
