Howdy Campers! June 28 is The Great American Backyard Campout! This special event, held annually by America’s largest conservation organization, is part of The National Wildlife Federation‘s effort to get millions of kids (and, kids-at-heart) outdoors and protecting wildlife. We are experienced family campers who also inspire folks to enjoy their nearby wilderness. So, I’m all over this!
The Great American Family Campout is the perfect opportunity to get acquainted with this outdoor family tradition. Learn what it takes without the risk of forgetting supplies or fearful kids waking other camping families. Not to mention, you still have your private bathroom & shower. The backyard campout will prepare you for your transition to camping at campgrounds.
Don’t have a backyard or looking for a little more adventure? Try one of these family-friendly “First Time Camper,” programs scattered around the Southeast United States. These programs are designed to help families get started and they all include some sort of shelter & gear for your stay. If you’re going to be near Atlanta, you can use this collection of campgrounds to narrow the search for your ideal experience.
Get ready for your campout with 365 Atlanta Family’s mega-giveaway. This giveaway has something for everyone, including: an awesome Eagle Creek backpack, a Thermacell Mosquito Repellent Lantern, and more. Some of the prizes are local to Georgia, such as a Georgia State Parks Membership & an overnight adventure at Stone Mountain Park. The contest ends June 28, 2014.
